Contactors and Reversing Contactors

A contactor has a low voltage electromechanical coil/switch that opens or closes separate electrical circuits when energised. Contactors are available with multiple normally open and or normally closed contact options to control loads up to 2750A. Typically used in electric motor, lighting, and other electrical applications. The low voltage contactor side is usually powered and controlled by PLCs for automation applications or mechanical switches for manual control.
